Divani Nadaraja

Divani Nadaraja's practice focuses on all aspects of child and family law issues.  Ms. Nadaraja has successfully represented hundreds of clients in all aspects of family law litigation and counseling. She has had extensive trial experience in contested child custody and visitation, divorce and equitable distribution, child and spousal support, and protective order matters in both Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts and Circuit Courts around Northern Virginia. While Ms. Nadaraja enjoys the courtroom and has gained a reputation as a zealous advocate for her clients, she values settlement and works hard to minimize contentious and unnecessary litigation.  Ms. Nadaraja has been recognized as a Rising Star in Virginia Super Lawyers for several years, a distinction awarded to 2.5% of Virginia attorneys.

Ms. Nadaraja began her career as the Fairfax Domestic Violence and Family Law Litigation attorney at Legal Services of Northern Virginia. There she became highly sought after to handle some of the county’s toughest domestic violence cases.  Following her tenure at LSNV, she moved to private practice where she litigated an array of complex matters including corporate valuations, contractual disputes, and international kidnapping cases.  Because Ms. Nadaraja’s domestic relations career has spanned public interest and private practice, she has had the unique opportunity to represent clients from an extensive range of backgrounds.

Ms. Nadaraja received her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, with triple majors in History, Psychology, and South Asian Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School in 2007. Ms. Nadaraja is currently a member of the Virginia Bar Association and the Fairfax Bar Association. She is also a member of the South Asian Bar Association of DC. An active member of the legal community, Ms. Nadaraja presents at CLEs, judges for mock trial programs, and mentors attorneys.

When Ms. Nadaraja is not practicing law, she serves as a board member and assists in the management of The SAPAN Institute (South Asian Performing Arts Network and Institute), a DC based non-profit she co-founded, that is dedicated to the promotion and proliferation of South Asian performing arts.
