After more than 25 years of practicing law in Virginia, Ms. Leibowitz brings to the firm her extensive litigation experience in the areas of family law, criminal law and commercial litigation. As a young attorney, Ms. Leibowitz honed her trial skills as a prosecutor in the Office of the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney, trying hundreds of bench trials and in excess of fifty jury trials. She then returned to private practice where she put those skills to use representing clients in all aspects of family and criminal law for 15 years. In 2015, Ms. Leibowitz was selected to work for the judges of the Circuit Court of Loudoun County where she gained invaluable knowledge and insight that inform her practice to this day.

Ms. Leibowitz has a wealth of experience representing clients concerning matters of spousal support, child support, custody and visitation, as well as the modification thereof. In addition, Ms. Leibowitz has successfully represented clients in complex cases of equitable distribution as well as  cases involving fault grounds of divorce. She has also represented countless parties to domestic violence and stalking protective order petitions. Further, Ms. Leibowitz has effectively represented children and adults in criminal cases in juvenile courts throughout the area.

Ms. Leibowitz has earned a reputation for being a tough but fair litigator who is always calm and professional as she conscientiously represents her clients’ interests. Ms. Leibowitz prides herself on her ability to make a personal connection with each of her clients, which helps her to guide them through very difficult situations. Ms. Leibowitz is able to quickly assess the issues in a case and determine the client’s best course of action. For many people, that course of action is the negotiation or mediation of their issues to a favorable resolution without the expense or uncertainty of litigation. However, in cases that must go to trial, Ms. Leibowitz consistently brings her breadth of experience and knowledge to court and zealously litigates her clients’ positions.

Ms. Leibowitz has also served as a conciliator for the Fairfax County Circuit Court and Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, helping both represented and pro se parties resolve their matters pending in those courts.

Ms. Leibowitz was recently included in the Washingtonian Magazine as one of Northern Virginia's top family law practitioners.
